Microsoft Extends University Pricing to Personal Software Purchases

May 15, 2006

The Columbia University Purchasing Office is pleased to announce that as a result of recent contract negotiations, Microsoft has extended the University's institutional pricing to all Faculty, Staff, Students and Alumni with a valid UNI and password. Members of the University community may now make personal purchases at the same discounts that apply to institutional purchases. The resulting expenditures will support the University's efforts to negotiate the most favorable institutional discounts for the full range of software products.

Personal Purchase Program benefits include:

  1. Access to a variety of significantly discounted Microsoft products; and
  2. Convenience of shopping from home using a secure and easy to navigate online ordering site maintained by e-academy, an electronic software distributor.

Please note that purchases made via the e-academy web link are for personal purchases only. All software or Microsoft issues, sales, post sales, service and other related issues should be addressed directly with e-academy.

Also note the CD media are included with the purchase price of the software (a $29.95 value). The CD media will be shipped to you with the software license key. Shipping and sales taxes charges will be applied.

To access the Microsoft personal purchase link and related information, visit the Microsoft Personal Page. To read more about this and other personal purchase opportunities through the University's institutional preferred vendor agreements, please visit www.columbia.edu/purchasing/personal_p.html and look for contract listings with a red "P".
